“I have an interest in historical figures who pioneered things, or achieved 'firsts', but whom I feel are perhaps unfairly overlooked by history. When I got the brief for Graphic Good I was going through a bit of a series of drawing such folk and had David Octavius Hill in mind. He and Robert Adamson perfectly capture the essence of 'collaboration' in the creative context. As artist and photographer they were able to create something much greater than the sum of its component parts. Besides, I have a thing for drawing geometric faces.”
